Conversations with Friends (CWF) is tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Your gift to CWF is tax-deductible as allowed by law.
Donations allow CWF to:
- Offer modest donations that average about $10/week to those who request financial assistance so that they can call family and friends or buy supplementary food, shampoo/soap, etc.
- Provide a ‘Dignity’ backpack, in response to a specific request, that includes clothing, a water bottle, hygiene and other items for people who have been ordered deported. Typically, the following clothing is included: jeans, two shirts, shoes, socks, underwear.
- Assist the relatively few people released from ICE, via our Safe Release/Accompaniment program, helping them reach their final destination by providing: a ‘Dignity’ backpack (containing hygiene products, paper, pen, water bottle, etc. that offer comfort during their journey) and, if needed, a bus ticket, a celebratory meal and clothing.
Given threats of mass deportations, our need for financial assistance could increase substantially in 2025. So, your gifts are tremendously appreciated!
